 Diabetes is a serious disease which changes patient’s life forever. Diabetes is caused by a lack of insulin which is produced by human pancreas. When pancreas stops producing insulin the cells in our organism can’t metabolize glucose. In this situation the only thing that can help us is an insulin injection .
Diabetes is disease which forces us to go on special diet, permanent monitoring of glucose level in our blood and intensity of physical activity. Besides we have to take on insulin injection daily or more. This means that we will have to prick ourselves at least few times a day. It isn’t pleasant and can cause bruises and scars.
Happily there is an alternative. Instead of insulin injection we can use an I-port which requires only one prick for 72 hours. During this one prick a special cannula is introduced into patient’s tissue. Through special port, which patient sticks onto his skin insulin is dosed into the cannula and than into organism. This solution allows to reduce the number of prick to one for three days and improves diabetics’ standard of living a lot.
